Israel Aerospace Industries Invents New System to Prevent Mid Air Collision

On November 22nd 2016, Eliana Fishler wrote an article for Israel Aerospace Industries talking about how the company is leading in finding a way to prevent mid air collision with civilian aircrafts. This is dubbed the CWS or collision warning system.

This is considered to be a new life saving solution which can warn combat pilots in situations in which there could potentially be a collision crash. This was created by the Israel Aerospace Industries MALAM Division and will be shown on display to the public during an exhibition which will be held in Orlando, Florida. This event will be from November 28th to December 2nd.

Here is was Jacob Galifat, the General Manager of IAI/MALAM Division has to say about this.

"The growing congestion of the airspace and lack of integration between military and civil air spaces requires new, independent solutions to prevent collisions. Such systems will improve flight safety without compromising operational freedom. The CWS we are introducing today combines the independence, operational freedom, ease of integration and affordability which are so important for the military operator, enabling military pilots to fly safely without risk to civilian or military aircraft nearby, in both training and operational flights."

Israel Aerospace Industries opened its doors in 1953 working as a solution for customers around the world that needed satellites, missiles, weapon systems, and radars.
